Its Ben Harper, in a pen drawing using only line elements to create this image. I think it makes Ben look a tad furry

The background is a little strange, but i managed to work with it reletively ok.

There's not much at all i can say about this that isn't just all and all a big brown nose comment except that i think it would be better with a tad more range of value.. you've got the darkest values and the lightest values but there's not a whole lot of mid range values. it gives the picture an overall effect of over-exposure but it leaves out some details that might help differentiate the guy's hair from the bushes in the background. that's my only criticism of it cause everything else is really neat. i like the technique you used to draw it, and the way it is slightly distorted from reality with a stylization that seems to be your signiture. somehow though, maybe its the rebellion in me against the lowest level art classes i've taken.. but i really wish this were in color. it looks like it would lend itself to some wacky vibrant colors that would be fun to use
